Ridden.it released in beta

A very clean and fresh looking website has recently been released in BETA called Ridden.it.

The design of the website looks great, with very clear navigation and a very cool map integrated into the home page.
Now using a Google map API is nothing new to plot locations or spots on, but  Ridden.it does it very well! Most of the ones we’ve seen in the past are very jittery and have a tendency to slow the main function of the site down but with Ridden.it is doesn’t seem to happen.

Clean and fresh design from Ridden.it

The map displays riding spots from around the UK for all styles of riding which include, Trials, Downhill, BMX and dirt jumping.

A very neat feature that we haven’t seen before is what Ridden are calling a “Trip Planner”. Which once you’ve signed up simply allows you to plan a journey to a spot that is located on the Ridden website. A very simple but effective feature to the website, and as more locations are added to the site this will become a fantastic resource for riders.

From the developers website Ridden.it is described as:

“Ridden.it is an online application, which allows action sports cyclists to plot the location of riding spots. Using an interactive map and community site features, users are able to provide feedback and information about a spot to inform future rider’s.” Glynn Phillips

Even though the site is currently in Beta mode, the site works well and we are looking forward to see the site grow.

  1. Hey Guys,

I have just come across this. Thanks very much for the mention and its great to hear such positive feedback. Now I have moved to London for my new job and settled in I am going to be dedicating a lot of time to Ridden.it to get it to a full release. We have had a great team of testers behind us and we have big plans for the future so keep checking for updates.

Great site you have got going on here.

    Cheers Glynn.

  2. P.s

Ridden.it was produced as part of my Degree which I have just finished. I am lucky enough that Bournemouth Uni feel the project is effective and will benefit the community therefor putting it forward for a British Interactive Media Association Award (BIAM). So this kind of support is great.

    Thanks

    Glynn

  3. No problem at all Glynn! A great website like Ridden.it needs to be talked about :)
